Artist's Description

I love the Alice in Womderland stories and this painting depicts the workshop of the Mad Hatter as I imagine it might be in an expressionistic kinda way…..

The Hatter is a fictional character in Lewis Carroll's 1865 book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its 1871 sequel Through the Looking-Glass. He is very often referred to as the Mad Hatter, though this term was never used by Carroll. The Hatter character, alongside all the other fictional beings, first appears in Lewis Carroll's 1865 novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. In "Chapter Seven – A Mad Tea-Party", while exploring Wonderland, Alice comes across the Hatter having tea with the March Hare and the Dormouse. The Hatter explains to Alice that they are always having tea because when he tried to sing for the foul-tempered Queen of Hearts, she sentenced him to death for "murdering the time", but he escapes decapitation. In retaliation, Time (referred to as "he" by the Hatter) halts himself in respect to the Hatter,...

About Ann Leech

Ann Leech

My passions are Art, the countryside, animals, nature, my dogs, science and medicine and mental health. I am a Psychiatric Nurse and Researcher by background, so I like to paint medical paintings. I have just had one of my paintings published as the front cover on the 2022 edition of Anatomy and Physiology by Elsevier..... I like to work from the early morning through to lunch and walk my Lurcher through the woods behind me. I gain inspiration from other artists, the countryside, animals and so don't really have a single style because I like to experiment so much. I hope you like my prints and artwork as much as I have enjoyed creating them and I'm really grateful to anyone who buys from me as its my sole source of income.
